I can just imagine the discussion and thought process that went into our military outsourcing security and peace keeping efforts in Afghanistan and Iraq to BlackWater.

High ranking official (HRO) "Mr. President, we are thinking of outsourcing security and peace keeping efforts in Afghanistan and Iraq to BlackWater".
Bush "Outsourcing huh? Our American companies outsource to save money, I like it! How much are we gonna save the American tax payer?"
HRO "Well, the average BlackWater security consultant makes about 4 to 5 times the amount that our Armed forces men and women make"
Bush "Well how does that save us money?"
HRO "I don't know, but some guy that claims to be smarter than me says it's a good idea."
Bush "Smarter than you huh? Well then he's definitely smarter than me. Let's do it."

Every American should be upset about this. Our government's main priority should be the protection of America and American installations overseas. Blackwater is basically an Army of mercenaries based out of LA. The Geneva Convention does not govern the use of an outsourced "Shadow Army" and they are not required to abide by these rules. Blackwater has been accused of many atrocities in Iraq and we need to prosecute the war criminals.

Furthermore, there is no cost savings to American taxpayers, in fact each outsourced security contractor costs 4-5 times as much as a standard member of the military. Our troops deserve better. They are out there keeping us safe from terrorists. They, not Blackwater, are the most advanced, most capable, best trained military in the world. There is no reason for this outsourcing and it makes no sense.

Support our troops and their families, recall Blackwater and try the company as war criminals and use the legal proceedings to recoup the loss and abuse of taxpayer money and to better fund our great military.
